City air and your skin: the PhytOxygène routine explained

9:30 am 9 April 2025 Nadiya Baghery 0 Comments

Urban living exposes skin to pollution and UV every day. This guide walks through each step of Mary Cohr's PhytOxygène range, from the daily cleanser to the professional facial, and what each one is for.

Skin on the front line

Your skin is the first thing to meet the outside world. In a busy city it encounters traffic fumes, dust and sunlight daily, and over time this, together with natural ageing and habits such as smoking, can leave the complexion looking dull. Traditionally, Chinese medicine has viewed the skin as a mirror of overall wellbeing, which is why we like to talk about skincare alongside rest, diet and relaxation. That is a traditional perspective rather than a medical claim, but it reminds us that skin care is part of caring for the whole person.

What is in the PhytOxygène range?

Mary Cohr developed PhytOxygène for skin that looks tired from urban life. The brand reports that the products are made with up to 95% natural ingredients, drawing on plant actives.

The cleanser

The Cleansing Foam removes make-up and the day's residue gently. It is formulated with aloe vera and natural exfoliating agents, which give a calm, comfortable feel after washing.

The day cream

Crème PhytOxygène is applied each morning on freshly cleansed skin. It features Japanese cherry tree extract to hydrate and white horehound extract, included by the brand to support the skin's natural protective functions.

The mask

Used once or twice weekly after exfoliation, the PhytOxygène Mask pairs green clay with phytic acid for a purifying, deep-cleansing feel.

The salon treatment

For a full session, the professional PhytOxygène facial includes deep cleansing, Phyto-dermabrasion to help clear congested-looking pores, a purifying mask and a soothing massage with the range.

Making it work for you

Consistency matters more than complexity: a gentle cleanse and moisturiser each morning, plus a weekly mask, is enough for many people. These are cosmetic products and individual results vary. At our Longueville Road rooms in Lane Cove we always suggest seeing your GP or a dermatologist about any ongoing skin concern.
