Dr Shen's Story
Dr Christine Shen trained in Sydney at the Sydney Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine, completing a Bachelor of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture alongside advanced postgraduate training in classical Chinese herbal medicine at ICEAM (Institute of Classics in East Asian Medicine), before establishing her Lane Cove practice on Sydney's North Shore.
What she noticed among North Shore patients was a consistent gap: people suffering from conditions that conventional medicine had partially addressed, or told them were normal, or couldn't fully explain. Back pain that kept returning. Hormonal chaos after coming off the pill. Fertility challenges after "normal" test results. Anxiety that medication blunted but didn't resolve.
Dr Shen built her Lane Cove practice around the conviction that these patients deserved more thorough investigation and more individualised care than the system was giving them. Lane Cove Acupuncture has become a trusted cornerstone of the North Shore wellness community — a clinic where patients return year after year, bringing family members and friends.
After clinical experience at Health Space Kings Cross, Dr Shen established her Lane Cove practice as part of the Rainbow Medicine group, bringing integrative Chinese medicine to the North Shore and Northern Beaches communities she has come to serve with dedication.

Clinical Philosophy
Every symptom has a cause. Chinese medicine insists on identifying the underlying pattern driving your complaints — not just naming or managing the surface manifestation. This is the only path to lasting results.
Your body is not broken. It is doing its best with the resources available. Our job is to restore those resources — Qi, Blood, Yin, Yang — so the body's innate healing capacity can express itself fully.
Your back pain and your anxiety and your sleep and your digestion are not separate problems. They are expressions of a single pattern within a single person. That is what Dr Shen treats — you, whole.
New patients are welcome. Free 15-minute phone consultations available to discuss your health concerns.
